Challenge
Nobody said following God was easy, nobody said being a Christian was easy...but nobody said it would be this hard-seem like something you're familiar with?
Its all well and good sitting back and praising God, when life is all roses, when your boyfriend sends you soppy messages, you chat for hours on the phone with your friends, your mum has a day off from nagging, you get a good mark in your exam and the sun is shining...
but what happens when your friends turn out not to be what you thought, when you haven't got the motivation to do your work, when its dull and rainy outside, when your boyfriend isn't sure of how he feels and your parents are driving you mad...what then??
The bottom line is,'you won't get what you want, until you've learned to use what you've already got'
This reasonates so truthfully to me, so strongly, why would God bless me with someone who loves me so much, if I am unable to love others as God desires, why would God grant me good marks for my work, if I do not use my God given talents and work at my best, why would God give me friends that stand by me, if I treat them badly...I guess, karma really does exist, but not in the malicious way that people see it, more as Gods way of reminding us to treat others, how we wish to be treated.
So don't just wait until things are going well, don't wait until the sun is shining, Paul reminds us what real worship looks like:
'Take your everyday, ordinary life-your sleeping, eating, going to work and walking around life and place it before God as an offering-Romans 12:1 The Message
So get out there, fall in love with God,by spending time with him, by sharing with him, by caring for him, by respecting him...fall in love with God, as he so fell in love with you, all those years ago
The world promises trouble, but Jesus promises peace: 'Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace' Matthew 11:29 The Message
Take your life, take yourself and walk alongside grace, whatever the weather!!
So often we give God the remains of our day, the snatched moments here and there, those times when we are not really concentrating, those times when we should probably be asleep....how can we expect God to talk to us, to share with us, how can we expect ourselves to hear him, when we are not really listening??
To quote my 'word 4 u 2day'...love for God is the root, love for others is the fruit-so how can we expect God to provide us with fruit, when we do not care for the root, one cannot get more, if one does not care for what one already has
So I say to you, embrace what you have, embrace what it around you, embrace life, embrace God...I kneel before God, I give my life over to him, again...I thank him for all he has given me, I recieve forgiveness for all I have done, both from him, and myself
I shout aloud that I am not perfect, and in doing so, I shout aloud that I am loved by God, for:
'The truth is that you'll never look into the eyes of a single person who's not important to God' Romans 14:19 The Message
'You won't get what you want, until you've learned to use what you've already got'
So take this moment, take the everyday, the ordinary and give it over to God, accelerate towards him, towards Love, towards Faith, towards Hope, towards LIFE!!
